Protective boots are typically used as outer over-boots on top of a primary protective garment, or as “stand-alone” protective footwear. Two primary protective objectives exist for footwear: threat material resistance, and physical protection (hardened toe, anti-static, anti-slip). CBRNE Tech Index does not include all suppliers and types of common, less protective boots such as everyday rubber and leather work-style boots; only those with enhanced and validated threat resistance are included. Other rubber-style boots may offer limited protection against liquid chemical spills based simply on material and thickness but should not be considered for routine threat protection.
