SC-210 Modular Chemical Detection System
The SC-210 Modular Chemical Detection System is designed to provide the basic parts necessary to incorporate a chemical sensor into an existing network or device for demonstration purposes. Weighing less than four ounces (100g), the SC-210 base assembly can detect numerous volatile organic chemicals, emissions gases, nitroaromatics, and chemical warfare agents (CWA). Optional modules can be added to increase response speed, increase sensitivity, to protect the sensor from extreme environments, and to build a handheld miniature gas chromatograph.

Other Chemical Targets
Most gas-phase materials will produce a response on one or more polymers in the sensor array. The vendor can customize the polymer selection to optimize response to specific chemicals or chemical classes.

Known Interferents/Inhibitors
Not reported. Vendor claims chemical warfare agents are detectable in presence of AFFF and JP8.
Start Up Time (From Cold Start To Sample Ready)
< 10 seconds
Response Time (Sample Application To Output)
<5 minutes; Analyte response is dependent on the adsorption coefficient of the agent onto the polymer sorbent. Published data for MeS shows response time is approximately 3.5 min to reach maximum signal. Recovery times are not specified, but data suggests that recovery can take several minutes. Active flow systems recover more quickly than static systems.
