GUARDION

[Note: this product was sold under license from Torion Technologies, Inc.] The GUARDION featured a low thermal mass capillary GC with high speed temperature programming (>2 ºC/sec) and a miniature toroidal ion trap mass spectrometer (TMS) with a nominal unit mass resolution over a mass range of 50 to 500 Daltons. The system was self-contained, weighs ~ 32 pounds with all accessories, is battery operated (30 V Lithium Ion), had an on-board helium GC carrier gas supply cartridge (2500 psig, 90 cc), and was person portable. The system is packaged in a decon-ready, hardened enclosure. The GUARDION features electronic pressure control (EPC) of the helium GC carrier gas and an on-board rechargeable battery system for renewable power. It has been replaced by the Torion T-9 sold by Perkin Elmer.
