Handheld Raman spectrometer with 1064 nm excitation laser for non-contact analysis of liquids, gels, powders, and solids (with optional Point and Shoot Accessory). Analysis time is typically less than 20 seconds (dependent on the Raman cross-section of the material). The 1064 nm excitation frequency greatly reduces fluorescence interference versus 785 nm Raman systems, although analysis times are generally longer. Identifies chemicals via comparision to on-board library of reference spectra. Utilizes Orbital Raster Scanning (ORS), in which the excitation laser scans over a wide sample area.
