A/DAM-SVS

Combination system for analysis if air, liquid, and solid samples in the field for detection of CWAs and TICs. Made up from the following instruments: IACEM 980, 6852 GC, and 5973N MSD. Entire sample pathway is closed so potentially toxic vapors can’t escape into the laboratory or mobile platform.

Known Interferents/Inhibitors
GC/MS is a highly selective technique for identification of organic compounds when used by a skilled operator, with low false positive/negative rates for target analytes. False IDs are more likely for unknowns (nontargets) since GC retention times cannot be compared to reference RTs. Additional selectivity for CWAs provided by FPD detector (sensitive to P and S only).
Start Up Time (From Cold Start To Sample Ready)
30 minutes minimum time to reach operating temperatures and pressure. 2 to 8 hr for optimal performance.
Response Time (Sample Application To Output)
>15 minutes; 5 to 45 minutes, depending on target chemical and method
Alarm Capability
Visual
Software Control
Agilent ChemStation data acquisition software
Other Operational Parameters
Entire system is mounted on a steel plate for moving from a fixed laboratory to a mobile platform. Entire sample pathway is closed; no effluent gases can escape from any components into the atmosphere during analysis.
